Citibank - The Business Times Gourmet Choice Awards 2009
More than 250 CEOs and business leaders participated in the selection process for the Citibank-BT Gourmet Choice Awards, which are categorised into 10 cuisine types, including Thai, Japanese, Chinese, French and Italian.
The top restaurants were voted monthly via BT's CEO e-club, which is made up of CEOs and managing directors across a wide range of industries. For each cuisine, up to 100 top executives voted for their 10 favourite restaurants. Selections were based on their personal preferences of the restaurants' quality of food, service and ambience.
These restaurants were then reviewed by BT's own food writers and featured in The Business Times' Dining Out pages every month. The Top 50 restaurants, determined by the number of votes, will receive a Top 5 Winners Award plaque, while the next 50 restaurants will receive a Merit Award plaque.
The awards for the Top 50 restaurants were presented at a gourmet spectacular jointly organised by Citibank and BT. More than 100 CEOs, business leaders and senior executives together with over 100 restaurateurs and chefs, graced the event, which was held at 72-13 (TheatreWorks) on 11 March 2009.
Citibank Guide to the Top 100 Restaurants in Singapore
The Citibank Guide to the Top 100 Restaurants in Singapore will feature all 100 Citibank-BT Gourmet Choice Award winners and is set to become a standard benchmark to fine dining in Singapore.
The guide was put together by BT's Lifestyle editorial team - led by Lifestyle Editor Jaime Ee - and took over three months to complete:
The book features reviews of the winning restaurants that were written by the team, elegant shots of the restaurants and delectable pictures of their various signature dishes. It is published by Singapore Press Holdings and will be sold at S$15 each at major bookstores islandwide from April 2009.
